The majestic green sea turtle gracefully glides through the crystal-clear waters of Punaluu Black Sand Beach on Big Island, Hawaii. Its vibrant emerald shell glistens under the warm Pacific sun, a true symbol of nature's beauty. Captured by Michael S. Nolan, this underwater snapshot from Maui showcases the elegance and tranquility of these remarkable creatures. Laniakea Beach, also known as Turtle Beach, on Oahu's North Shore is a sanctuary for these gentle giants. Here, amidst golden sands and crashing waves, the green sea turtle finds solace and nourishment in its natural habitat. Venturing beyond Hawaiian shores, we find ourselves in Isabela Island within Ecuador's Galapagos Islands. An adult green sea turtle leisurely feeds underwater near this remote South American paradise - an awe-inspiring sight that reminds us of the incredible biodiversity our planet holds. In Southern Maldives' North Huvadhoo Atoll lies another encounter with these magnificent beings. Scuba divers are treated to an enchanting experience as they swim alongside a graceful green sea turtle navigating through coral reefs teeming with life. As dawn breaks over Ascension Island, a female green sea turtle bids farewell to her nesting grounds and returns to the vast ocean she calls home – a poignant reminder of their migratory instincts and connection to different parts of the world. Honolua Bay on Maui's northwest side serves as a protected marine sanctuary where adult green sea turtles seek refuge among vibrant corals. This species spans tropical and subtropical seas worldwide; their presence brings joy not only to Hawaiians but also to people across continents who appreciate their magnificence. From Sipadan in Sabah, Malaysia to Borneo in Southeast Asia – it seems no corner of our planet is untouched by these captivating creatures.
