Gustave Moreau (1826-1898) was a French painter known for his intricate and symbolic artworks. His painting "Diomede Devore by His Horses" depicts a dramatic scene from Greek mythology, showcasing his attention to detail and mastery of composition. In "The Torture of Prometheus, " Moreau captures the agony of the Titan as he is punished for stealing fire from the gods. The artist's fascination with mythological themes continues in "Prometheus Bound, " where he portrays the eternal suffering of Prometheus.
