"Hand-Coloured: A Kaleidoscope of Vibrant Hues and Artistic Expression" Step into a world where colors come alive, as we explore the captivating realm of hand-coloured art. Delving deeper into history reveals Torii Kiyomasu I's masterpiece "Sakata Kintoki Wrestling with a Tengu. Nature takes center stage as well; behold the lusciousness of Orange Fruit captured in a hand-coloured lithograph from 1828 or the delicate beauty of Iris Germanica depicted in an engraving from 1847. These botanical wonders are brought to life by skilled hands wielding brushes laden with rich dyes. Architectural marvels also receive their fair share of artistic treatment. The Viaduct across the Sankey Valley is transformed into an enchanting sight through colour aquatints partly enhanced by hand application techniques dating back to 1831. Glimpses into satire and political commentary emerge within G. Humphrey's Caricature Shop, where the phrase "Honi. Soi. Qui.
