Henri Constantine Richter was a talented artist known for his exquisite hand-coloured lithographs. From 1842 to 1873, he captured the beauty of various creatures through his meticulous artwork. One of his notable pieces is "Upupa Epops (Hoopoe), " created between 1862 and 1873. In this captivating lithograph, Richter portrays the vibrant plumage and distinctive crest of the hoopoe bird. Another remarkable work by Richter is "Grey-Headed Flying Fox (Pteropus Poliocephalus)" from 1845 to 1863. This hand-coloured lithograph showcases the intricate details of these fascinating bats, emphasizing their grey heads and impressive wingspan. Richter's talent extended beyond birds and bats; he also depicted stunning parrots like "Cacatua Leadbeateri" in a hand-coloured lithograph dating back to 1848-1869.
