Hosios Loukas is a breathtaking monastery located in central Greece, known for its stunning Byzantine architecture and rich history. The monastery was founded in the 10th century by the hermit St. Luke of Steiris, who was renowned for his holiness and miraculous healings. A UNESCO World Heritage site and attracts visitors from around the world who come to admire its intricate mosaics, frescoes, and marble carvings. The monastery complex includes two main churches dedicated to St. Barbara and St. Luke, as well as a crypt where the relics of St. Luke are enshrined.
