Born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, Howie has been fortunate to have access to some of the most stunning natural wonders right at his doorstep. From the serene Mount Olympus Cove to the majestic Wasatch Mountains surrounding the University of Utah campus, he finds solace and inspiration amidst these picturesque settings. But it doesn't stop there - Howie's wanderlust takes him far beyond his hometown borders. He has ventured as far as Alaska's Wrangell-St. Elias National Park where Disenchantment Bay and Hubbard Glacier left him awestruck by their sheer magnitude. And who can forget his unforgettable encounter with llamas while exploring Victoria in Australia? As a dedicated birdwatcher, Howie recognizes the importance of conservation efforts for our feathered friends. Bear River NWR near Brigham City, Utah holds a special place in his heart as it serves as a vital sanctuary for migrating birds. The beauty of Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming also captivated Howie during one memorable morning when he witnessed sunlight casting its golden glow upon the iconic Tetons and an old barn nearby. Back home in Farmington Bay Waterfowl Management Area, managed by Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, he was treated to a spectacular sight - a bald eagle soaring gracefully above him against a backdrop of pristine wetlands. Even within Arizona's Grand Canyon National Park lies hidden treasures waiting to be discovered – like North Canyon where abstract black and white reflections create mesmerizing patterns that ignite one's imagination.
