Renowned for his versatility and skill, he brought to life numerous iconic roles that have left an indelible mark on Japanese performing arts. One such role was Mongaku Shonin Disguised as Yamagatsu, portrayed by Ichikawa Ebizo from 1781 to 1801. Another striking image showcases Danjuro as a Youth with a Toy Horse under Plum Blossoms. Created by Ippitsusai Buncho, this artwork captures the youthful energy and charm of Ichikawa Ebizo in his earlier years. The Soga Monogatari play saw Ichikawa Ebizo take on two different roles - Ettyujiro and Kagekiyo. This color woodblock print vividly portrays these characters' emotional depth and theatrical prowess. In Utagawa Toyokuni I's masterpiece from 1802, we witness Ichikawa Hakuen portraying Akushichibyoe Kagekiyo in "Hatsumonbi Yosooi Soga. " The intense expression on his face conveys the passion and dedication that made him one of kabuki's greatest actors. Utagawa Kunisada's depiction of Bando Mitsugoro III as Minamoto no Yorimasa alongside Segawa Kikunojo V as Ayame no is another testament to Ichikawa Ebizo's talent. Their dynamic poses exude power and drama befitting their legendary characters. As Shirafuji Genta in "Sono Uwasa Sakura, " played by Ichikawa Danjuro VII (Ebizo V), he captivated audiences with his commanding presence.
