Jacopo Palma il Giovane, also known as Jacopo Negretti, was a prominent Italian painter of the late Renaissance period. Born in Venice in 1544, he was the son of another famous artist, Palma Vecchio. Jacopo followed in his father's footsteps and quickly gained recognition for his skillful use of color and composition. Despite facing competition from other renowned artists such as Tintoretto and Veronese, Jacopo carved out his own niche with his unique style that combined elements of both Mannerism and Baroque art. His works often depicted religious scenes or mythological subjects, showcasing his ability to capture emotion and drama on canvas.
