Jim Wells is a legendary name in the world of motorcycle racing, and his impressive track record speaks for itself. From his early days with Kawasaki to his later successes with Ducati and Suzuki, Wells has left an indelible mark on the sport. In 1984, Jim Wells teamed up with Asa Moyce to compete in the Formula One TT race. The duo's skills and determination were evident as they pushed their Kawasaki and Ducati bikes to their limits, leaving spectators in awe. Wells' talent was not limited to one category or year. In 1983, he showcased his prowess once again in the Production TT event aboard a Kawasaki bike. His speed and precision on the track were unmatched, earning him well-deserved recognition. Throughout his career, Jim Wells consistently proved himself as a force to be reckoned with. Whether it was the Formula Three TT race in 1980 or another Formula One TT event in 1983, he always gave it his all on his Suzuki and Aldridge Kawasaki motorcycles. The Junior TT race of 1980 saw Wells riding under the Sunoco Yamaha banner. His performance was nothing short of exceptional as he navigated through challenging terrain with finesse and skill. Even classics did not escape Jim Wells' expertise. In 1984 Classic TT competition, he took control of a Honda bike and showcased why he was considered one of the best riders of his time. Wells' partnership with P&M Kawasaki also yielded remarkable results throughout various years at different events like Formula One TT races in both 1983 and '84 or even Formula Two TT competitions where he rode for Aldridge Kawasaki team. His journey began back in 1979 when he first competed at the prestigious Isle of Man Tourist Trophy (TT) event aboard a powerful Kawasaki machine. This marked just the beginning of what would become an illustrious career filled with victories and triumphs. In 1982, Wells returned to the Formula One TT race with Kawasaki once again.
