"John M: A Man of Many Names and Talents" In the vast annals of history, there are individuals who leave an indelible mark on their respective fields. John M. Bacon, a distinguished figure in the US Navy between 1865 and 1880, was one such man. Although his creator remains unknown, his legacy as Colonel John M. Bacon endures. Stepping back further into time, we catch a glimpse of Bedlow Island from Communipaw Avenue in Jersey City during 1861 through an ink-on-paper masterpiece. This artwork transports us to another era, where John M's presence is felt even before he became known as Colonel Bacon. But it doesn't stop there; our enigmatic subject seems to have traversed various realms throughout history. The Royal Allied Oak and Self-Created Mushroom Kings stand tall on May 29th, 1815 - a testament to John M. 's multifaceted nature and perhaps his ability to bring disparate elements together. Moving forward chronologically brings us face-to-face with another incarnation of this enigma: John Malcolm Stahl - an American film director and producer from the year 1933. Did our protagonist dabble in cinema? It appears so. Yet again, we encounter the elusive figure within the realm of artistry at Rouen in 1929 by none other than artist John M Aiken himself. What connection does this hold? Is it mere coincidence or something more profound? As if these clues weren't enough to pique curiosity further still emerges yet another mention - this time as baseball player extraordinaire World Champions Series participant: John M Ward. Was he not only skilled in naval warfare but also adept at wielding a bat? Finally bringing us full circle is Reverend John Mitchell Mason (1770-1829), an esteemed American clergyman whose likeness was captured by Asher Brown Durand based on work by renowned artist John Wesley Jarvis.
