King Gustav Vasa, also known as Gustav I of Sweden, was a pivotal figure in Swedish history. He led the country to independence from Denmark and established the House of Vasa as rulers of Sweden. His reign marked the beginning of modern Sweden and he is often referred to as the "Father of the Nation." King Gustav Vasa implemented numerous reforms that strengthened central authority and laid the foundation for a strong Swedish state.
