Amidst the frigid winter landscapes of the Far East, the critically endangered Amur and Korean leopards (Panthera pardus orientalis) roam. With only around 100 individuals remaining in the wild for each subspecies (4MR1698, 4MR1316, 4MR1540), these magnificent creatures are a testament to the resilience of nature. Yet, they face numerous threats, including habitat loss, poaching, and climate change. In captivity, these leopards (4MR1288, 4MR1438, 4MR704, 4MR333) are protected, allowing us to appreciate their beauty and power up close. Their piercing gaze (July, captive) and powerful strides through the grass (July, captive) serve as a reminder of the importance of conservation efforts to preserve these endangered species for future generations.
