"Lascelles: A Royal Connection Through the Ages" Step back in time to the early 1920s, where King George V and his beloved family graced the halls of Lascelles. This historic estate witnessed many significant moments, including the gathering of notable figures in the Abbey annexe during the grand 1937 Coronation. In 1923, a captivating portrait captures The Royal Family at Lascelles, radiating elegance and regality. Among them stands Mary, a remarkable woman who served as a WW1 nurse with unwavering dedication. The year 1922 marked another milestone for Lascelles when Princess Mary exchanged vows with Viscount Lascelles in a splendid wedding ceremony. Their union brought together two esteemed families and left an indelible mark on history. Queen Mary herself formed a close bond with Hubert Lascelle, cherishing their friendship amidst the enchanting surroundings of this magnificent estate. Even Duchess of Buccleuch found solace within these walls, seeking respite from her noble responsibilities. Delving further into history reveals rustic sports taking place in Harewood House's park back in 1845. The north view showcases its timeless beauty created by an unknown artist whose work still captivates hearts today. Princess Mary continued to grace prestigious venues like Weston Park in Shifnal, Shropshire - her presence leaving an air of grace wherever she went. Her image immortalized on stamps serves as a reminder of her enduring legacy. Not only did Lascelles witness royal connections but also hosted extraordinary individuals such as The Lady Lloyd of Dolobran captured beautifully by Glyn W. Philpot's brushstrokes - showcasing artistry intertwined with history itself. Through these glimpses into Lascelles' past, we uncover stories that transcend time – tales woven through generations that continue to inspire awe and admiration for this remarkable estate's rich heritage.
