Lemuel, a name that echoes through history with various notable figures bearing the same moniker. From Horatio Nelson, the British naval officer who rose to prominence as Vice Admiral of the White, to Lemuel Haynes, an American Revolutionary soldier and Congregational minister. In 1837, a steel engraving captured the essence Haynes. A man whose contributions to his country were etched in history forever. His image depicted strength and determination, reflecting his role as a soldier and spiritual leader. Jonathan Swift's masterpiece "Gulliver's Travels" also featured a protagonist named Captain Lemuel Gulliver. The French edition showcased captivating illustrations that brought Gulliver's adventures to life.
