"From Biblical Times to Modern Day: The Journey of the Leper" Throughout history, leprosy has been a disease that both fascinated and terrified people. In the New Testament, Jesus performed miracles by healing lepers in Samaria, showing compassion and breaking societal norms. Naaman, a prominent figure from biblical times, was also miraculously healed from his leprosy. Fast forward to the Victorian period in Hawaii, where Kalaupapa became known as a leper colony. This isolated community housed those afflicted with this debilitating disease. It served as a stark reminder of the challenges faced by individuals living with leprosy during that era. In Mombasa, Kenya in East Africa, we see another glimpse into the life of someone affected by leprosy.
