A liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker approaches the South Hook LNG Jetty in Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire, Wales, UK, Europe. The jetty, a vital part of Europe's oil hub (artwork C016 / 7696), is undergoing construction to accommodate larger LNG carriers. Once docked, the cryogenically cooled LNG is transferred to the plant for regasification, releasing the fuel in its gaseous state for distribution to homes and industries. The LNG tanker's journey begins at a liquefied natural gas plant, where the gas is cooled to -162 degrees Celsius (artwork C016 / 7695) before being loaded onto the vessel for transport across the sea. This clean-burning fuel is an essential component of the global energy mix, providing a reliable and sustainable source of heat and power.
