Eminent Egyptologist and British aristocrat, Lord Carnarvon's life was marked by his unwavering passion for ancient civilizations. Born in London in 1866, he inherited a vast fortune from his family at just six years old. This wealth enabled him to pursue his love of archaeology, leading expeditions to the Middle East and North Africa. In 1917, Carnarvon's discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb sparked international fascination with ancient Egypt. His subsequent excavations in the Valley of Kings led to numerous significant finds, including a golden mask that would later be identified as belonging to King Tut himself. Despite his many accomplishments, Lord Carnarvon's life was tragically cut short when he died from an infected mosquito bite while on expedition in 1923 at just 57 years old.
