Major J. T. Gorman: A Royal Figure Embracing Adventure and Connection Step into the world of Major J. T. Gorman, a man whose life was intertwined with moments that shaped history. From Glamis Castle, the ancestral home of Queen Elizabeth, to the Parade of Boy Scouts and Girl Guides in Adelaide, Australia, Major Gorman's presence left an indelible mark. In 1937, at Royal Lodge in Windsor - the country home of the royal family - Major Gorman reveled in regal surroundings while fostering a sense of unity among his people. His dedication extended beyond palatial walls as he joined Her Majesty at the new playground on the site of the Old Foundling Hospital. Together they embraced progress and celebrated childhood innocence. The jubilee celebrations for King George V brought Their Majesties to Edinburgh in 1935 and 1937. Amidst grandeur and tradition, Major Gorman stood by their side as they honored Scottish heritage with pride. Dressed resplendently in Highland attire, His Majesty arrived at St Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh during a momentous occasion in 1929 and again ten years later in 1937. The echoes of bagpipes filled the air as he showcased his deep connection to Scotland's rich culture. From Southampton to New Romney, Kent; from Glasgow's bustling streets to Southwold's serene campsite - Major Gorman accompanied His Majesty on countless adventures across Britain. Inspecting miniature railways or driving trams through cityscapes became opportunities for him to connect with people from all walks of life. At Armistice Day ceremonies held at Whitehall's Cenotaph on November 11th, both 1936 and 1937 saw King George VI attended by Major Gorman paying tribute to fallen heroes who sacrificed everything for peace.
