Discover the enigma of Marendaz, a British marque that left an indelible mark on the automotive world during the golden age of motorsport. From the Marendaz factory in Maidenhead, 1934, came a series of innovative specials, including the 13-70 Special that conquered the Lands End Trial. The 15-90 short chassis, showcased at Rushmore in 1936, and the competition 2-seater, driven by Mrs. NA Moss in motoring trials of the late 1930s, were just a few of the many Marendaz creations that challenged the status quo. The 1928 Marendaz 9 / 90 and the Marlborough 2 litre with Jarvis body, both from this era, further highlight the marque's commitment to pushing boundaries. The Marendaz Special of AC Hess and the O Bertram's Bugatti Type 35 at a BARC meeting in 1930, as well as the open 2-seater at the Mid Surrey AC Barnstaple Trial in 1934, are just a few of the many captivating moments in Marendaz's rich history. The creator of these masterpieces remains unknown, but their legacy continues to inspire and intrigue automotive enthusiasts to this day.
