The Marquess of Granby, also known as John Manners, was a celebrated British military leader and politician in the 18th century. He gained fame for his bravery and leadership on the battlefield during the Seven Years' War, earning him the nickname "Hero of Minden." As a commander of the British Army, he was known for his compassion towards his soldiers, providing them with food and shelter during times of need. In addition to his military career, he also served as a Member of Parliament and later became Master-General of Ordnance.
