Medici Giovanni de' Medici, also known as Pope Leo X, was a prominent figure in the Italian Renaissance. Born into the powerful Medici family of Florence, he rose to become one of the most influential leaders of his time. As pope, he was known for his lavish lifestyle and patronage of the arts. Giovanni de' Medici was a skilled diplomat and politician, using his connections and influence to navigate the complex political landscape of 16th century Europe.
