In 1849, the Norton Estate was allotted for sale, marking the first steps towards urban development. The landscape continued to evolve with the creation Bank Estate in 1876, showcasing meticulous planning and foresight. As you stroll through Meersbrook Park, established in 1897, immerse yourself in nature's embrace while admiring stunning vistas that have delighted locals for generations. This tranquil oasis offers respite from bustling city life and invites visitors to indulge in peaceful walks along its Top Walk. During World War II, even this serene haven couldn't escape turmoil. German forces copied an Ordnance Survey map of south Sheffield and marked bombing targets on it – a chilling reminder of wartime struggles endured by residents.
