Copenhagen's iconic Little Mermaid statue perches gracefully on rocks by the sea. Symbolic representations intertwine fantasy with reality as tales merge into historical events. Edmund Dulac's evocative illustration captures one such moment in Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale.
