In the midst of chaos and danger, a narrow escape becomes a testament to the fragility of life. Anarchist bomb attack on the wedding procession of King Alfonso XIII and Queen Victoria Eugenie of Battenberg in Madrid - a moment that could have rewritten history, but fate intervened with its unpredictable hand. The European officers at Allahabad found themselves teetering on the edge of an abyss, narrowly avoiding a massacre that would have stained their souls forever. The attempted assassination of the King of Italy left hearts racing as he evaded death's cold grip by mere inches. A litho captures this heart-stopping moment, immortalizing his narrow escape for generations to come. Even during leisurely pursuits like yachting, danger lurks in unexpected corners; "Shamrock II" met misfortune on that fateful day, yet both king and crew managed to cheat tragedy's clutches. War brings forth countless tales etched in blood and bravery alike. The Times correspondent and artist faced peril head-on at Rustchuk but emerged unscathed from its deadly embrace. Across borders, even kings are not immune to mortal threats; England's monarch found himself in harm's way amidst political turmoil captured vividly through colour lithography. Amidst naval battles raging across seas afar, HMS Alexandria witnessed an explosion that threatened lives onboard. Staff Commander Hosken experienced a narrow escape from certain doom as shells rained down upon them mercilessly. Portsmouth Harbour too held secrets untold; a submarine danced with fire but managed to slip away from its fiery grasp just in time. Yet not all escapes occur within realms defined by conflict alone; sometimes it is nature itself that turns against us. A field hospital ablaze became an inferno threatening wounded soldiers' lives until they were rescued from impending doom – their survival another chapter written within the annals of human resilience. History has seen many close calls where destiny hung precariously in the balance.
