The National Assembly, a symbol of democracy and political power, has played a significant role in shaping the course of history. One such pivotal moment occurred during the French Revolution in 1789 when the Tennis Court Oath was taken. In this historic event, members of the Third Estate gathered on a tennis court to pledge their commitment to drafting a new constitution for France. Moving across continents, we find ourselves in Bulgaria's capital city Sofia at Ploshtad Narodno Sabranie Square. Here stands the imposing statue of Russian Tsar Alexander II, reminding us of Bulgaria's own National Assembly and its historical ties with Russia. Jumping ahead to 1791, we witness another crucial episode in French history known as Der Ballhausschwur (Le Serment du Jeu de paume). This oath-taking ceremony took place inside the Royal Tennis Court where members of the National Assembly vowed not to disband until they had established a constitution for France. Serbia's Belgrade also boasts its own National Assembly building - an architectural marvel that reflects Serbia's journey towards democracy and self-governance. Heading eastward to Kuwait City brings us face-to-face with the majestic Kuwait National Assembly building. This modern structure represents Kuwait's commitment to democratic principles and serves as a hub for political discourse and decision-making. Back in Paris lies one of Europe's most iconic legislative buildings: The Bourbon Palace or Palais Bourbon houses France's current National Assembly. With its grandeur and historical significance, it stands as a testament to centuries-old parliamentary traditions. Delving into artistic representations now takes us through Henri Gousse’s illustrations featured in Le Rire magazine. These satirical drawings capture moments within Chambre des Deputes Hemicycle (the hemicycle chamber) where politicians engage in lively debates while addressing various societal issues – from dog-related amendments by Clemenceau George to sports trends involving boxing championed by Jaures Jean and Brisson Henri.
