13: A number steeped in intrigue and mystery, from the enchanting streets of Bath, England, where The Circus hides a charming door knocker, to the historic racecourses of Somerset. In France, the number 13 brought luck to French racing driver Arthur Durays De Dietrich, as he dominated the Gordon Bennett Cup in Auvergne. Good luck charms, like the ones depicted in this black and white photograph, have long been associated with the number 13. This embroidered postcard, pre-dating 1914, showcases a collection of these charms.
