"Exploring the World of Onegin: From Page to Stage, from History to Art" Step into the enchanting world of "Onegin, " as depicted in various forms throughout history. Tatyana, the captivating character from Alexander Pushkin's novel in verse, comes alive through stunning illustrations and portrayals. In a regal costume fit for a royal, Nicolas II embodies the essence of Eugene Onegin himself in an exquisite 1890 portrait. The grandeur continues with a vibrant postcard illustrating an opera performance at La Scala, Milan - transporting audiences back to 1899-1900. The talented singer Alexandra Panaeva-Kartseva takes on the role of Tatyana with grace and elegance. Her portrayal captures both the vulnerability and strength that define this beloved character. Ivan Alexandrovich Melnikov brings Onegin's complex persona to life through his own powerful rendition. Yelizaveta Lavrovskaya mesmerizes us with her timeless beauty captured in a striking portrait from the 1890s. As we delve deeper into Tatyanas dream, Konstantin Alexeyevich Korovin's illustration evokes ethereal imagery straight out of Pushkin's poetic masterpiece. Traveling beyond performances and artworks, we enter the Museum dedicated to Alexander Onegin himself - author and historian extraordinaire - located in Paris during the roaring 1920s. Here we find relics that tell tales of his vast knowledge and contributions. We also catch glimpses of Russian artist Pavel Shukovsky alongside historian Alexander Onegin during their time together in Weimar, Germany during late 19th century gatherings filled with intellectual discourse. Josef Lowy immortalizes Alexander Onegin once again through his artistry around c1900 while capturing another intriguing moment featuring ballerina Tamara Karsavina by his side during early 20th-century rendezvous.
