Paul G. Paul George was a renowned art collector and connoisseur of Renaissance masterpieces. His collection boasted some of the most exquisite works by Raphael, one of the greatest painters of all time. Among his prized possessions was "Portrait of Raphael, " a stunning depiction created around 1505. This captivating artwork showcased Raphael's exceptional talent in capturing human emotions with remarkable precision. Another gem in Paul G. Paul George's collection was "Putto with Garland, " painted by Raphael circa 1510. This enchanting piece portrayed a cherubic figure adorned with a garland, radiating innocence and beauty. "The Madonna of the Tower" was another masterpiece that held a special place in Paul G. Paul George's heart. Painted between 1509-1511, this artwork depicted the Virgin Mary holding baby Jesus while standing on top of a tower, symbolizing her protective nature as she watched over humanity. One cannot overlook "The Madonna Della Sedia, " created around 1514 by Raphael himself. This iconic painting showcased the tenderness between mother and child, evoking deep emotions within its viewers. Paul G. Paul George also cherished "The Madonna Del Gran Duca, " an extraordinary piece from 1505 that displayed the Virgin Mary cradling baby Jesus against her chest with utmost love and devotion. In addition to his passion for religious art, Paul G. Paul George appreciated portraiture as well. He owned an impressive rendition titled "Pope Julius II, " which captured the powerful presence and authority exuded by this influential figure during his papacy around 1512. Not limited to Renaissance artworks alone, Constantin Guys' pieces also found their way into Paul G. Paul George's esteemed collection. Works such as "Waiting Carriages" transported viewers back to bustling streets filled with elegant horse-drawn carriages during the 19th century. "The Elephant and Castle" depicted an intriguing scene from urban life, showcasing the vibrant energy of a busy city intersection during the same era.
