Peter Paul Rubens was a prolific Flemish Baroque painter known for his dynamic compositions, rich colors, and sensual depictions of mythological and religious subjects. Born in 1577 in Siegen, Germany, Rubens spent much of his life in Antwerp, Belgium where he established himself as one of the leading artists of his time. Rubens' work is characterized by its dramatic lighting, expressive figures, and intricate details.
