"Pikas: Nature's Winter Storers" Found in the high mountains of Colorado and beyond, they can small mammals known for their incredible ability to store vegetation as food for the harsh winter months. These adorable creatures inhabit talus slopes and rock slides near timberline, making their homes in colonies. Each pika within a colony has its own territory, especially during autumn when they gather plants to create hay piles. Related to other species like the American Pika, Glovers Pika, and Large-eared Pika found in different parts of China, these furry animals showcase remarkable adaptability.
