Polikarpov, a name that resonates with aviation enthusiasts and history buffs alike. From the iconic Polikarpov I-16 Rata fighter to the lesser-known Polikarpov I-15bis FLARF-02089, this brand has left an indelible mark on the world of aircraft. The Polikarpov I-16 Rata fighter, known for its exceptional maneuverability and speed, was a force to be reckoned with during World War II. Its sleek design and powerful engine made it a formidable opponent in aerial combat. Not limited to just one model, it also produced the I-153 9 RED, another fighter plane that showcased their engineering prowess. This aircraft boasted impressive capabilities and played a crucial role in defending against enemy forces. But Polikarpov's influence extended beyond military planes. The Heinkel HD. 37a stands as a testament to their versatility in designing various types of aircraft. In addition to their contributions during wartime, Polikarpov played an essential role in civilian aviation as well. The Po-2 trainer planes were used by workers at Molotov Automobile Works in Gorky (Nizhni Novgorod) as they learned how to fly at the plant's air club in 1940. During World War II, even propaganda found its way into the skies through Polikarpov planes. Leaflets loaded onto Po-2 airplanes were dropped behind enemy lines for German soldiers to read - a unique form of psychological warfare employed by Soviet forces. These versatile aircraft also served humanitarian purposes during times of conflict. Wounded Red Army soldiers were transported safely aboard Po-2 planes when medical attention was urgently needed on distant battlefields. Furthermore, women aviators made significant strides thanks to Polikarpov's support. In preparation for an all-women squadron air show on All-Union Aviation Day in 1939, pilot/instructor T. Dolbilova and technician/navigator E.
