The Polish-Soviet War of 1920 was a tumultuous and pivotal conflict that saw the clash between two ideologies, as depicted in various powerful artworks. One such poster by El Lissitzky titled "Beat the Whites with the red wedge" captures the determination of the Soviet forces to overcome their adversaries. Another striking piece by Viktor Nikolaevich Deni called "Entente under the mask of peace" reveals how external powers manipulated events behind a facade of harmony. Amidst this chaos, Ivan Andreevich Malyutin's artwork "They prefer to tinker with ink, getting themselves all dirty" satirically portrays those who shirked their responsibilities while Poland faced imminent danger. The anonymous creator's depiction of Poland as "the last dog of the Entente" highlights its perceived loyalty to foreign interests rather than its own people. Malyutin's call for action in his creation "Take a rifle in hand. To the Polish front. " urges individuals to defend their homeland against invading forces. Similarly, Vladimir Mayakovsky's poster "Help voluntarily. " emphasizes collective effort and sacrifice during these trying times. In an attempt to divert attention from internal issues, another work by Mayakovsky provocatively suggests: "If you don't want to fight anymore, go fight against Poland. " This statement reflects both desperation and strategic maneuvering on behalf of Soviet authorities. The consequences for desertion were severe, as illustrated in another piece by Malyutin: "Deserter, You are as Much A destroyer of the Workers-Peasant State as I am a Capitalist. " It underscores how abandoning one's duty could undermine not only individual soldiers but also jeopardize revolutionary progress. Dmitri Stachievich Moor’s artwork titled “A red gift to a white master…” symbolizes Ukraine being sold out by corrupt leader Petliura to Polish elites. This betrayal further complicated an already complex conflict.
