"The Queen of Spades: A Tale of Intrigue and Fate" Step into the world of the enigmatic "Queen of Spades, " a captivating story that spans from 1875 to 1900 in Rhode Island. Created by Oriental Print Works, this mesmerizing tale unfolds with a handkerchief as its centerpiece. Intriguingly, it all begins with a card game featuring the King of hearts, Queen of Spades, Ten of diamonds, and Jack of clubs. As tensions rise, the Queen turns angrily away from her opponent and commands the Knave to turn over the cards. The drama continues on stage with an opera adaptation by P. Tchaikovsky in 1944. The elaborate stage design by Dmitriyev transports audiences into a world filled with passion and mystery. Delving deeper into history, we encounter Marie Sass from the theater de l'Opera in 1867. Andre Gill's creation captures her essence beautifully as she embodies the spirit of Natalia Kirillovna Zagryazyskaya nee Razumovskaya (1747-1837), whose silhouette portrait from 1777-1782 remains anonymous yet intriguing.
