"Regard: A Glimpse into the Soul through Art and Time" In the timeless masterpiece "The Return of the Prodigal Son" by Rembrandt Harmensz van Rijn, we witness a profound regard between a father and his wayward child. The artist's brushstrokes capture the depth of emotion in their eyes, conveying forgiveness and unconditional love. Traveling to Egypt in 1910, one cannot help but be captivated by the enigmatic gaze of the Sphinx. Its inscrutable regard has puzzled scholars for centuries, leaving us to wonder about its secrets hidden within those ancient stone features. Moving on to religious art, we encounter Mary's tender regard towards her infant son in "Virgin and Child, " created during the 16th century. This portrayal evokes a sense of maternal protection and devotion that transcends time. In Rogier Van der Weyden's "Christ Appearing to His Mother, " painted around 1440, we witness an intense moment as Jesus reveals himself after his crucifixion. Their gazes meet with overwhelming compassion and understanding, illustrating a profound connection between mother and son. Shifting gears to contemporary expressions of affection, a young couple depicted on a romantic greetings card exchange loving regards that speak volumes without words. Their eyes sparkle with shared dreams and promises for their future together. Stepping away from human subjects but no less impactful is a venerated wooden figure whose serene regard exudes spirituality beyond our comprehension. It invites contemplation about faith and reverence for something greater than ourselves. During wartime in 1943, an advert for Harella coats showcases smart fits from any angle – emphasizing how even amidst chaos or uncertainty; attention to detail can bring confidence when facing adversity head-on. Political history intertwines with regard as Clement Attlee stands alongside General Jose Miaja in Madrid during 1937 - united against fascism while exchanging mutual respect through their socialist salute.
