"Riding Party: A Journey Through Time and Battlefields" Step into the world of history as we embark on a thrilling riding party, exploring iconic moments from various eras. Our first stop takes us back to the English Civil War in 1645, where we witness the gallant Royalist cavalry charging fearlessly at the Battle of Naseby. The vibrant colors of this lithograph bring this historical event to life. Continuing our journey, we find ourselves immersed in Adrien Demont's masterpiece "Don Quixote. " This French artist transports us to Melbourne's National Gallery of Victoria, where his artwork captures the essence of chivalry and adventure. Next, we cross over to a different time and place with "Crossing the Divide or Thirsty Trappers Making a Rush for the River. " This watercolor painting from 1837 showcases trappers' determination as they face an arduous challenge in their pursuit of survival. Moving forward, we encounter "The Negus Menelik at the battle of Adwa, " depicted through vivid lithography. Witnessing this historic clash between Ethiopia and Italy allows us to appreciate both bravery and resilience amidst conflict. Our ride then brings us closer to home with General Robert Lee and his staff during Gettysburg. The color lithograph captures a pivotal moment in American history when these figures strategize amid intense warfare. Traveling further back in time, an engraving portrays Vercingetorix surrendering before Julius Caesar after enduring a grueling siege at Alesia in 52 BC. This depiction reminds us that even great leaders sometimes face defeat but leave behind legacies that shape history forever. As our riding party progresses through centuries past, Scottish regiments come into view through another captivating color lithograph from 1895. These soldiers proudly represent their heritage while serving within Britain's esteemed army. We then witness Queen Margaret of Anjou taken prisoner after the Battle of Tewkesbury in 1471.
