The River Ganges, also known as the Ganga, holds a sacred place in the hearts of millions. As the Sitar and Tabla players strike their instruments beside its tranquil waters in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh state, India, Asia, a melodious symphony resonates through the air. The river's banks are adorned with ghats that witness countless rituals and traditions. One such sight is the partially submerged tilted Shiva temple below the ghats. Its mystical presence adds an ethereal charm to this ancient city. On these very banks lies the Burning Ghat where cremations take place; it is believed that ashes scattered here grant liberation from worldly attachments. As dawn breaks over Varanasi (Benares), Uttar Pradesh, Morning religious rituals commence in full swing within the holy waters of River Ganges. Devotees immerse themselves in its purifying embrace while musicians continue playing enchanting tunes on their Sitar and Tabla. Not only does this sacred river bless Varanasi but it also plays host to grand festivals like Kumbh Mela in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. Pilgrims flock from all corners to seek spiritual solace amidst its divine currents. Further upstream lies Rishikesh, Uttarakhand - home to Lakshman Temple overlooking the majestic expanse of River Ganges. Here devotees find solace and serenity amidst nature's beauty as they offer prayers at this revered site. Ghats line both sides (Ganga) offering a mesmerizing view along its course. From sunrise till dusk these steps become alive with people seeking blessings or simply immersing themselves in devotion. A historical marvel stands tall on its banks - Mosque of Aurangzeb - captured beautifully in a black-and-white photograph dating back to 1875 Benares era. It serves as a testament to India's rich cultural heritage intertwined with religious diversity.
