Robert Wilson, a name that echoes through time and across continents. From the picturesque landscapes of Scotland to the vibrant cultures of Native America, his lens captured moments that would forever be etched in history. In 1900, Robert Wilson stood at the foot of the first Tay Bridge, its majestic arches stretching towards the sky. The bridge symbolized progress and innovation, a testament to human ingenuity. Just like Wilson himself, always seeking new perspectives and pushing boundaries. Venturing further into western Scotland, he found himself mesmerized by Inverary Castle. Its grandeur was matched only by Wilson's artistic vision as he immortalized it on film for generations to come. GW Wilson and Company may have been credited for this masterpiece but it was Robert's keen eye that truly brought it to life. But his lens didn't confine itself solely to Scottish shores; it traversed oceans and continents alike. In 1912, he encountered a Native American adorned with a buffalo-horns headdress - an image that encapsulated both strength and cultural heritage. It was through photographs like these that Robert sought to preserve diverse traditions for future generations. His camera also witnessed historical events unfold before his very eyes. As Queen Victoria left Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh in 1886 or invested Abdul Aziz with the order of the Garter in 1867, Robert stood there capturing every moment with precision and grace. Yet amidst all these grand spectacles lay intimate portraits of individuals who shaped their own destinies. Prince Arthur Duke of Connaught and Strathearn exuded regal charm while Sher Ali Khan Emir of Afghanistan emanated power from within. The Battle of Isandlwana during the Anglo-Zulu War held no secrets from him either; his lens froze time as soldiers dashed fearlessly into battle with colors flying high above them – bravery immortalized forevermore. Even royalty could not escape his discerning gaze.
