Meanwhile, on the Faid Gihaad, the yacht of the Viceroy of Egypt, His Highness Said Pasha, and Koenig Bey, his Private Secretary, hosted a lavish banquet. Said Pasha, a prominent figure in Turkish politics, was also known for his residence in Alexandria, Egypt, depicted in an image from around 1880. Charles Neufeld, one of the prisoners rescued at Omdurman, was a testament to the Viceroy's leadership during times of conflict. The Turkish Commerce and the British Ambassador at Constantinople, as well as diplomatic conferences regarding the Serbian-Bulgarian war and the Egyptian Question, further highlighted Said Pasha's role in shaping the region's political landscape. A devout Muslim, Said Pasha's Egypt was home to numerous mosques, including the magnificent Mosque Mohamed Ali. His rule was marked by modernization efforts, leaving an indelible mark on the history of Egypt and the Sudan.
