"They say cleanliness is next to Godliness - but I say it's next to impossible. Meet Scamp, the mischievous little troublemaker who always manages to find himself in a mess. From Georgie Porgie to Quay Scamps of 1896, it has been causing chaos throughout history. Whether it's Ethel finding him in a colorful litho or Talebot the Hunchback being celebrated as a scamp during the Seventeenth Century, this lad knows how to stir up trouble. As the Belgian proverb goes, he's always needing help from anyone who provides it. Just take a look at Smiler and Scamp illustrated by Cecil Aldin in The Mongrel Puppy Book - these adorable illustrations capture his playful spirit perfectly. No matter how many times he gets into mischief, you can't help but love this young scamp of a country. "
