Wanderlust through shifting sands: From the dune formations of Zuid Kennemerland National Park in Noord-Holland, Netherlands, to the windswept shores of Schoorlse Duinen and Redcar in the UK, the relentless dance of sand continues. Sketches of Jutland's dunes echo the ebb and flow of these dynamic landscapes, shaped by the forces of nature. Dune grasses like European Beachgrass (Ammophila arenaria) hold ground against the desert-like conditions, while Black Crowberry (Empetrum nigrum) succumbs to the drifting sands. Amidst the ever-changing terrain, two intrepid travelers make their way to the North Sea, leaving footprints in the sand that will soon be erased. Winter storms and locust plagues expose the fragile beauty of these ecosystems, revealing the tenacity of life amidst the shifting sands.
