Siegfried Schauzu, a legendary sidecar racer, left an indelible mark on the world of motorcycle racing. With his trusted partners Horst Schneider and Wolfgang Kalauch, he dominated the Sidecar TT races throughout the 1960s and 1970s. In 1966, Siegfried Schauzu teamed up with Horst Schneider to compete in the Sidecar TT race aboard their BMW machine. Their skillful riding and impeccable teamwork earned them a well-deserved victory. The following year, they repeated their triumph at this prestigious event. The duo continued to impress in subsequent years. In 1968, Schauzu joined forces with Schneider once again to conquer the challenging Isle of Man circuit on their BMW sidecar. Their determination and expertise propelled them to another remarkable win. Schauzu's partnership with Wolfgang Kalauch proved equally formidable. Together, they achieved numerous victories that solidified their status as one of the most successful pairings in sidecar racing history. In 1971, they conquered the grueling 500 Sidecar TT race on their BMW machine. Their success didn't stop there; in 1973 and 1974 respectively, Schauzu and Kalauch showcased their exceptional skills by clinching victories at the Governors Bridge section during the intense competition. Not content with just one brand of motorcycle, it also demonstrated his versatility by partnering with Aro for a thrilling ride in the Sidecar TT races. In both 1975 and 1976 events, he piloted an Aro-powered sidecar alongside Kalauch to achieve impressive results against tough competition. Throughout his career spanning multiple decades, Siegfried Schauzu consistently displayed unmatched talent coupled with unwavering determination. His legacy as a dominant force in sidecar racing endures today as fans remember him for his extraordinary achievements on iconic circuits like Isle of Man.
