At the Second Reading of the Factories and Workshops Bill, he championed legislation that aimed to protect workers' rights and ensure safer working conditions. His dedication to education was evident in his role as a member of the New London School Board. He believed that every child deserved access to quality education, regardless of their background or social status. His commitment to this cause led him to support initiatives such as The Opening Festival of the Gordon Boys Home, where he witnessed firsthand how education could transform young lives. Not only did Sir Richard Temple focus on domestic issues, but he also played a significant role in shaping India's future. As Lieutenant-Governor of Bengal and later as Viceroy of India, he worked tirelessly towards improving governance and infrastructure in the region. The Banquet held in honor of Lord Curzon showcased Sir Richard's eloquence as he addressed members at the Royal Societies Club. Throughout his career, Sir Richard Temple received numerous accolades for his contributions. In 1887, during Her Majesty's Jubilee Year celebrations, an engraving commemorated his achievements alongside other distinguished individuals who had made significant societal impacts. Sketches captured moments from London School Board meetings where he actively participated with fellow board members discussing educational reforms. A man admired by many for both his intellect and character traits; statues were erected across different locations honoring him - one notably located at Bombay signifying his connection with India. In addition to public service commitments; it is worth mentioning that Sir Richard enjoyed leisurely pursuits too.
