The solar barque, a significant symbol in Ancient Egypt, is depicted in various forms of art and carvings found in tombs across the country. In the Tomb of Rameses I, located in the Valley of the Kings during the 19th Dynasty, a captivating painting showcases three mummiform Gods towing the solar barque. These divine beings are believed to be guiding Ra on his journey through the heavens. Another depiction can be seen in the Tomb of Sennedjem at Deir el Medina. Painted on its walls are Gods tethered to Hathor, who is pulling the solar barque with her immense power. This scene emphasizes their role as guardians of Ra's celestial voyage. In another tomb within Thebes belonging to Inherkhau from the 20th Dynasty, we witness him steering a boat accompanied by two seated Gods inside a shrine. This wall painting highlights his connection with these deities and their presence during his journey on the solar barque. The significance of this celestial vessel is further emphasized by its association with Isis, Thoth, and Khephri – prominent Egyptian deities – as depicted in another artwork found within Inherkhau's tomb. They accompany him on his voyage through both physical and spiritual realms. Additionally, scenes from other tombs such as Tuthmosis III showcase important events like sarcophagus descent into burial chambers while Harvest Scenes from Sennedjem's tomb provide insights into daily life activities within The Workers Village. Artifacts like Stela of Aafenmut and Cippus of Horus also shed light on ancient beliefs surrounding protection and worship practices associated with these divine journeys aboard solar barges. These various depictions highlight not only Ancient Egypt's fascination with celestial travel but also their deep-rooted religious beliefs centered around gods' guidance throughout one's afterlife journey.
