"Squiyer: Embracing the Spirit of Chivalry and Spectacle" Step into a world where knights don their armor, acrobats defy gravity, and circus performers captivate audiences. An enchanting journey through time, weaving together the vibrant tapestry of history and entertainment. Inspired by the legendary tales of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza, our young squire stands tall in his yellow tabard, green stockings, and silver spurs. With sword in hand, he embodies the noble spirit of adventure that has captivated hearts for centuries. As judges enter a bustling town adorned in scarlet caparisons with white bands and blue bridles, they bring justice to life amidst a sea of colors. The second judge's black hat with plume adds an air of authority to this captivating scene. In military costume from the 15th century, a man of arms commands respect as his gold chainmail joints glimmer under steel plate armor. Accompanied by his loyal page in tunic attire, they epitomize loyalty and bravery on the battlefield. The circus comes alive as an equerry balances precariously atop a horse while a clown brings laughter to all who watch. Gustave de Smet's painting captures this magical moment when imagination takes flight within the confines of a big top tent. Charlemagne himself bestows knighthood upon four Aymon sons at court—a ceremony steeped in honor and tradition depicted beautifully by Huon de Villeneuve's 13th-century miniature. This grand event symbolizes valor passed down through generations. Amidst carnival revelries, horses race freely as Carle Vernet immortalizes this exhilarating spectacle on canvas. The thunderous hooves echo through time as spectators cheer for their favorite contenders—pure adrenaline coursing through veins. History unfolds before our eyes as Count Gabriel de Montgomery fatally wounds King Henry II during a fateful tournament in 1559.
