Step into the past with a glimpse of steam engine history. In 1776, Matthew Boulton and James Watt revolutionized industry with their improved steam engine, featuring cylinders and pistons. Before that, Savery, Newcomen, Blakey, Kier, and Papin experimented with early steam engines. By the late 18th century, steam power reached new heights, as the Porter brewery in London was among the first businesses to adopt it. Fast forward to 1939, when Mr. F Tremain and Mr. A Shoveller operated an old locomotive in Erith, London, keeping the legacy alive. From Hornblowers and Cartwrights to Woolfs and John Smeaton's engines, steam power transformed transportation and industry, shaping the world as we know it today.
