From the Common-Wealth of 1766, where The Colossus towered over Anon's creation, to the whimsical Les Echasses of Louis Marin Bonnet in 1790, stilt walking has been a source of wonder and delight. Of 1823-60 brought a new energy to this ancient art, while Albrecht Durer's The Dream of the Doctor, created around 1498, showcases the timeless elegance of those who dared to defy gravity.
