The transetto of the Genoa Cathedral is a treasure trove of historical and religious art. As you step into this sacred space, your eyes are immediately drawn to the royal throne, where King William II is depicted being crowned by Christ in a stunning Byzantine mosaic. The intricate details and vibrant colors bring this scene to life, showcasing the power and divine authority bestowed upon the king. Moving towards the northern arm of the transept, you encounter the Cybo chapel adorned with captivating frescoes. One vault depicts the Resurrection of Jesus Christ in 1910, capturing the momentous event with vivid brushstrokes that seem to leap off the ceiling. Another fresco portrays St. Mary Magdalene de Pazzi having a vision of St. Aloysius de Gonzaga in glory from 1685, exuding an ethereal beauty that transports you into their spiritual realm.
