On the tranquil shores of Vagsoy, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the estuary, lies Refviksanden Beach, a picturesque haven of sand and sea. Once a witness to history, as British forces landed here on the 27th of December, 1941, during Operation Archery – a commando raid. Atop Kannesteinen rock, a silhouetted man stands in awe of the breathtaking sunset, as the Kannestein or Kanne Stone gazes out to the horizon. Amidst the serenity, a Weimaraner hunting dog roams the coastline, adding to the island's enchanting charm.
