"Exquisite Craftsmanship: The Art Furniture Through the Ages" Step into the enchanting world furniture as we explore its rich history and timeless beauty. From the intricately detailed Dolls House of Petronella Dunois, crafted in 1676, to the elegant panel converted into a fire screen on RMS Mauretania, each piece tells a story of exquisite craftsmanship. In an era when Waring and Gillow dominated the furniture industry, their advertisements showcased stunning examples masterpieces. These advertisements not only highlighted their expertise but also served as a testament to their commitment to quality and innovation. One such advertisement features a captivating cabinet from 1652, adorned with fruitwood, ebony, ivory, and brass. Its intricate design showcases the skillful artistry that went into creating this remarkable piece. Another gem from Waring and Gillow is the decimal clock dating back to 1798-1805. Made from pine, brass, and enamel, it exemplifies both functionality and elegance—a true testament to how veneer can enhance even everyday objects. As technology advanced over time, new materials were introduced into furniture design. A lithograph titled "The Sweating System" depicts workers laboring diligently in a workshop filled with various tools used for veneering—an insight into the meticulous process behind these works of art. Moving closer to modern times is a coffee table created in 1929 using mica and ebony veneer.
