The War of the Seventh Coalition, a monumental clash that forever altered European history. The Battle of Ligny witnessed Marshall Blucher's shocking fall, as he lay entangled under his horse, stunned by the violence surrounding him. In the midst of chaos, a group of Napoleonic soldiers fired relentlessly at their enemy during the Battle of Waterloo. French soldiers fought valiantly in colorful lithographs capturing their bravery and determination. Napoleon himself took center stage at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815, depicted in a powerful lithograph exuding both confidence and intensity. Engravings from this historic battle showcase its ferocity and scale; one engraving portrays June 18th as a day etched into eternity. La Sainte Haye stands as an emblematic building occupied alternately by friend and foe throughout this war-torn period. The headquarters of the Duke of Wellington became a strategic hub within the village of Waterloo, portrayed vividly in colored engravings that bring life to these historical sites. La Belle Alliance emerges as the heartland for French forces during this conflict - its significance captured beautifully through colored engravings that transport us back to those fateful days. Meanwhile, remnants remain from battles past: ruins mark where once stood vibrant villages like Ligny and Genappe. The Chateau Hougoumont holds its own tale amidst this tumultuous time - with views showcasing wooded areas skirting it - reminding us how nature intertwined with human strife during wartime. A front view reveals La Haye Sainte farm standing resolute despite being caught up in relentless fighting. These images offer glimpses into an era defined by bloodshed but also resilience and valor on both sides. The War of the Seventh Coalition remains etched not only on paper but also within our collective memory – forever shaping Europe's destiny.
